Czas nieubłaganie płynie i zbliżamy się do obchodów Świąt Bożego Narodzenia. Jeśli chcielibyście umilić sobie i swoim pociechom czas oczekiwania, zrobić przedświąteczne sprawunki lub po prostu poczuć magiczny świąteczny klimat, w naszym rejonie jest kilka miejsc, gdzie będzie można tego wszystkiego doświadczyć.

Join our friendly workshops and make beautiful lanterns from willow and tissue to carry in the West End Lantern Festival procession!

Lanterns take about 4 hours to make. All materials and tools will be provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

There are a few sessions you can come along to if you would like to make a lantern:

Lancaster BID invite you to celebrate the start of the festive season when the annual Lancaster Christmas Light Switch On event takes over Market Square, kindly supported by Lancaster University.

Warming up the festivities, CancerCare’s Santa Dash is back for 2022 announced by the vibrant beats of Samba Espirito, after which the family friendly stage show hosted by Beyond Radio promises to be an extravaganza of music and dance, culminating with the much-anticipated countdown to light switch on with Santa himself!

Lancaster BID enlisted the help of primary school children from all over the district to beautifully decorate 12 life-size reindeer. Can you find the locations of our reindeer hidden in the windows of city centre businesses?

Find all 12 reindeers to be in with a chance to win £100 to spend in St Nics Arcades!

Entry forms with map can be found within the Lancaster BID ‘Love Christmas, Love Lancaster’ booklet, available at the Lancaster Visitor Information Centre in The Storey on Meeting House Lane, as well as all participating businesses – keep an eye on leaflets within school book-bags and newsletters too!

You can also vote for your favourite reindeer, with the winning school to receive £100 to spend on resources in Rymans!

Completed entry forms can be posted at the Lancaster Visitor Information Centre, postboxes in Marketgate Shopping Centre and The Entertainer Toy Store in St Nicholas Arcades or handed to staff at Lancaster BID’s Reindeer Day on Sunday 4th December. Completed forms can also be emailed to marketing@lancasterbid.org

Join us for 2022’s Lancaster Christmas Market at Lancaster Brewery as we play host to some of the best food, drink and craft producers and makers from across the North West. 

There’s gifts and treats to take home plus plenty of food and drinks to enjoy at the event. Kids entertainment and live music really help to kick of the festive season!!

Free car parking on Lancaster Leisure Park and overflow spaces 5 minutes walk away. 

We recommend making a night of it by leaving your car at home and jumping on the FREE shuttle bus with regular pick ups running from Dalton Square and Tite & Locke at Lancaster Railway Station to the overflow car park and the Leisure Park itself.

1st December Thursday from 3:30pm until 8:30pm the market will be running

Come to Lancaster’s Williamson Park to see fantastic artisan stalls and festive food and drink all set up in the beautiful Ashton Memorial!

This is a unique Christmas Market you definitely don’t want to miss.

Fun for all the family, the West End Winter Lantern Festival is a lovely way to start the festive season!

At 6pm the lantern procession will assemble outside More Music and set off through the streets of the West End, spreading a little winter magic. Cacophony Arkestra will be joined on the procession by More Music’s Baybeat Streetband reworking festive classics into funky beat-filled stompers. The procession will feature beautiful lanterns created by the community and the giant Sea Spirit puppet.

After the lantern parade join in with musicians from More Music in singing some festive songs before enjoying a magical shadow puppet show from Thingumajig Theatre who are bring their beautiful giant Ghost Caribou to the lantern festival for the first time.

FREE – just turn up!

Join us for the Heysham Village Christmas Market – Entry £1 per adult –  Taking place in The Royal Heysham car park, there will be: 

– Over 25 local artisan stalls (including crafts, chesses, chutneys, and more

– The Thwaites Shire Horses – with Father Christmas on his sleigh (Saturday)

– Alpacas – meet, greet and treat

– Mizzen Crew – singing sea shanties

The Royal Heysham pub will be open for food and drinks, both inside and outside in the heated tent
